Hey peeps,

i'm looking for a new graphics card, either an ATI 4870 or 4890. Do either of these cards have built in HDMI? I mean without needing an adapter!

Adapters should come with them (my 4870 did) and carry the sound so i don't think it matters to be honest

unless you looking at 50" plus screens you wont see any diffence between adaptor and direct hdmi...

Eh? Why would there be any difference anyway? They're both HDMI and both digital, there wouldn't be a difference.

palit have a hd4870 with displayport built in and it comes with a hdmi adapter (I'm guessing from dvi). You can of course just use a hdmo to dvi cable right angle or otherwise but it will not pass digital audio via ati's dvi prot

Yes you can. Mine has 4x monitor outputs. 2x DVI, 1x Disply Port and 1x HDMI. Damn good price too. 512mb and 1Gb cards have identical outputs.

See here. Palit/Xpertvision are the same cards. Apparrently there are two versions, one with and one without the HDMI port so double check.
