My parents are using a acer aspire 7735z that they bought from my brother a month or two ago.
I recently set them up on the home group so they can have access to my film collection, and got them a HDMI cable so they can watch them on the TV.
Copy a film to the laptop, plug in HDMI cable at both ends, we see great audio, but the sound is coming from the sub standard laptop speakers.
We plugged the cable into my brother new machine to check, and after selecting the right audio output at the bottom right of the screen, everything worked perfectly, placing the problem with the laptop.
The on the acer machine, the audio outputs that we can choose from are the speakers and "realtek digital output" or some other similarly worded option, both these play the sounds through the speakers.
I've reinstalled the latest audio drivers from the acer website, and I've done all the latest windows updates. What say you OCUK?
