HDMI help

Cheers Ironhorse, well ive ordered all the connections I need so as soon as they all turn up I will be giving it a try. Iron do I still have to go into sound in control panel to get the sound to the tv seeing as though im using an nvidia card?

I just got the audio over HDMI with my GTX 275 working :)

Parts used.
One cheap 5m DVI to HDMI cable
One 4pin to 4pin DVD-rom audio cable (I cut the two 4pin ends in half to 2pins ;))

But i have a problem still..
I cannot find a way to have both the audio over HDMI and from the 3.5mm rear audio socket selected and working at the same time
I can only set one or the other to default audio...:(

You'll need to connect your audio to a sound system or something though.

Get an ATI then the HDMI cable transfers the sound
*Simples*

all so ATI cards have a sound chip on them so i can set like media play to use ati hdmi sound output for a movie (so the films sound comes out of the tv) and play a game using the sound card (games sounds coming out of my pc speakers)

Haha, ok ok guys calm down, Ati cards play sound cool. Like my first post my card is Nvidia and I need that to work with sound, hdmi etc. Anyways back to the reality pieces are on order should have them in the next few days, I will connect the spdif cable to both gpu and mobo and then use my dvi to hdmi adapter plug in the hdmi cable to the tv and away I go. Fingers crossed, oh yea change the sound in control panel too. Then I can hopefully enjoy my pc on the big plasma in the front room. Thanks again for everyones input ( both sides lol ) I will report back in a couple of days.
