Hi All

I'm looking at the Samsung LE40M86BD and am wondering if the audio from a PS3 could go via the HDMI cable - into the TV and then out the 'optical out' and in to an AV Amp?

I talking Dolby Digital EX etc.

If not on this TV then are there any that will do this.

Thanks

Rich

Yep, that's what the output is for. All the sound inputs into the TV can be sent out through the optical output to one source, an amp for example.

Hi All Just for your info

I email Samsung to ask them and I got the following reply

Dear Richard Evans

Thank you for contacting Samsung Electronics.

The usual connection method we recommend is to connect the home cinema
system or amplifier to the TV itself.

The home cinema system/ampilifier will take the sound from anything
showing on the TV e.g. PS3

This helps reducing the connections you need if you have more than one
unit connected to theTV.

I hope this has been of some assistance to you. If you do have any
further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards
Franziska
