Hi all,

I've just got myself a new NVIDIA graphics card but I have to use a Display Port from the card to my monitor(4K) and I've got an HDMI lead from the card to my AV Receiver.

As the title suggests I want that setup but cannot figure it out, never used multiple outputs before, but NVDIA detects my AV Receiver but obviously I just want to use it for sound.

In the Sound menu it doesn't recognize that anything is plugged into any of the HDMI sockets therefore I can't select my receiver for sound.

I used to just use my AV Receiver for my last 1080P monitor. Same setup but the video output from my receiver went to the monitor.

Theoretically this should be straight forward, I just somehow need to enable that HDMI socket on my card so my receiver can be picked up.

Any ideas?

You will get better quality audio over the HDMI.

You can also set the Sound to HDMI out.

You might just have to set the HDMI port to mirror the displayport output. Will save on gpu usage.

you need to go into playback devices then set the HDMI output as the default.
