HDMI vs DVI.

yes I know what £10 is...

I'm referring to cables that are made by a certain company and are in certain stores, that entertainment magazines tend to recommend... that supposedly make a big difference.

Had an lol over this bit of the convo :)

you can get a decent HDMI for llike £4 for a couple of metres, and I dont have any problems playing sound over DVI to HDMI. just depends if your graphics card allows it, I know most new ATi cards work fine.

My only gripe with the ATI DVI to HDMI converter is that it extends the cabling out the back of your pc.

Currently using a DVI cable for just picture with my monitor, and I need to push my pc as close to the wall as possible, however downstairs I don't need to worry about such things as my pc sits just off to the side of the TV and has no clearance/space issues.

Personally I'd always choose DVI over hdmi.

I've had problems on my monitor and hd tv with the resolution and screen size. I can't get 1920x1080 on my 24 inch monitor full screen and can only get full screen by going on a lower res. This isn't the main gaming one I use but it would be nice to use the screen size.

DVI all the way!

True adapter size is a bit annoying, I dont have any restrictions so its not an issue for me. But a pure HDMI connection would be cool, Cant wait to get hold of the new cards with HDMI out, that would be much better :D
