HDMI - Which version?

I would completely agree that going for HDMI cables with solid connections is worth a couple of quid for sure. I find that looking for a cheapish cable with a bunch of very positive user reviews usually means you are onto a winner (the OCUK value HDMI cables for example are great).

One thing I would like to point out is What Hi Fi's database of HDMI cable reviews. Man, there are many lols to be had here.

My god, do people believe this stuff!?

Saying that, the biggest problem from Magazines is they need to favourably review products from advertisers. I would bet my last £ that the magazines where they review some of those cables had big glossy adverts from the same manufacturers.

no one seems to have asked what his tv can support. mine for example only does 1.3

It will work fine with 1.4 cables, just won't support the extra features it offers.

Since 1.4 cables are so cheap anyway, might as well go for them!

Am I the only one who read The Halk's post in Augustus' voice?

I don't know, but it sounds like fun. :) Scam the UK, The Halk way!

no its not. 1.4 guarantees 3d, 1.3 might not. 1.4 does ARC and ethernet. 1.3 does not.

1.3 HS cables will do everything except ethernet. But since prices are the same it isnt worth buying 1.3 over 1.4. Just make sure you get a proper 1.4 and not one of these hooky sub-standard cables that arent really up to the job that are doing the rounds on some auction sites etc.
