Just got a BENQ 241W, it has HDMI, however i cant source the cable :(

without giving competitors names, what is the exact name of the cable im looking for?

So is Component not as good as HDMI? Why is there no HDMI cable? Is Component hi-def? My mate has a 360 and has been a bit confused by this ... and tbh, me too.

Cheers

HDMI is just a digital signal that also can carry audio, it is a better connection than others.
Component and VGA are hi-def yeah, the current 360 doesn't support HDMI.

Dont get caught up in the whole which output is best. Just plug in whatever youve got and enjoy the games.

Component and VGA are still both High Def and will give you almost the same resolutions etc as HDMI, but HDMI is a true digital connection. Whereas component and VGA are converted from digital to analogue and then back to digital again when the signal reaches the TV set.

HDMI is supposed to be better and iirc is the only connection to give you 1080p - although I may be wrong on this last count.

Yeah I agree. Tbh I think most of it is just a load of bullocks, as I remember when I got my first DVI PC monitor and could hardly tell the difference between it and a VGA one!

Only 1080i on mine, the 360 can't get 1080p. The PS3 can.

it was implemented with a previous dash update so it supports 1080p via vga for definate and i think component also, but your tv has to support 1080p through these connections

HDMI is technically the best, then VGA and then component.

If your monitor has a VGA input (i think it does)you are best with the VGA cable as it will do 1080P. but will cost you £20.

It sucks but MS dropped the ball on including a HDMI connector, they will put one in the Elite console but it is very had to tell between VGA and HDMI in reality.

The last update allowed 1080P via component and VGA. My 360 is certainly set to 1080P in the display settings via component.
