Like has been said regarding DVI vs VGA when monitors first started using them, there is such a tiny difference that you cannot notice it.
HDMI vs VGA vs Component, again so little difference its not worth noting. Just plug in what you have to hand.
Its hardly in the same league as say Composite vs Component or RGB vs RF like it used to be.
So is Component not as good as HDMI? Why is there no HDMI cable? Is Component hi-def? My mate has a 360 and has been a bit confused by this ... and tbh, me too.
Picture wise there is no difference, the only benefit of HDMI over Component/VGA is that it carries audio. If you have an optical out to 5.1 sound anyway then you are better off with Component or VGA.
