and am right that I am not allowed to put a link to the website were I saw it
thank you

If you want 4K with HDR, then yes, this looks like it'll work. Just bear in mind though it's based on the seller's description, so they have to have got those bits right. If you buy from the South American River Company ;) then returns are easy.

Side note: first time I've come across a splitter that isn't a splitter; 'can't have two displays on at the same time'.
I am very sorry if this is a stupid questior or you don't understand what I am trying to say but I will have go. my tv as only 2 hdmi sockets which i use for blue ray player and firestick so to ues my soundbar I have at to connect it optical cable and it is rubbish using it that way ie can't even use my tv remote to change volume anyway I have been told by technical support from both the soundbar and the LG TV that they don't recommend you using a 2 in 1 out hdmi switch so my question is can I connect my blu-ray player via USB port on my TV using an adaptor of sorts thank you for reading my post

No you can't use the USB port to connect a bluray player or a firestick or anything that sends video to the TV. Video has to come in on the HDMI ports.
You have 2 options:

1: Use the sound bar connected with the optical cable only. You would still get high quality sound, but you would have to control it using the soundbar remote and you may be more likely to get lip sync issues with the audio.
or
2: You use the soundbar via HDMI (ideally use the arc HDMI port on your TV if it has one), and then use a HDMI switch plugged into the other HDMI port, which would have the bluray player and firestick plugged into that. You would then have to physically press the button on it to switch between bluray player or firestick, or buy a model with a remote control and use that remote to switch.

In either case you are going to have to use an additional remote. I can understand you liking how the soundbar intergrates with the TV and makes it easier to use for volume totally. So I would do option 2 and buy a HDMI switch that has a remote. Then you only have to press the remote once to switch.
That's fantastic. I will go for option 2 and I really do appreciate your time and help. It's just deciding which hdmi switch to go for I have no idea which one there are so many so I don't know which one to buy I'm not so bothered about a remote one I have got to many as it is. do you have any recommendations please thank you

Go to a famous website. Search for "hdmi 2 switch". Any of the first 5 results will work. Generally if you can see device in the image with 2 hdmi leads going in and 1 coming out, and that it has a button with an LED next to it (to indicate which is the live input) then it should work. Maybe get a 4K compatible one since they aren't much more.

EDIT: Should be under a tenner
ok I think I know what website I will have a look thank you
