Ordered a Kindle from Amazon, currently on the free Amazon Prime trial so have free 1 day delivery.

Anyway ordered it on the saturday, dispatched on the Sunday, get my tracking number and it's supposed to be delivered today. Fine. I've been in all day, and I sit near the front door, I have purposely not had the TV on or listening to music because I have quite bad hearing and might not hear the door.

Anyway, I check back on the tracking page and apparently it was delivered at 12:48. On the HDNL website it says:

"The parcel has been delivered The parcel has been left in a secure location at the front of the property"

Okay so I go and have a look around, can't see anything, no note has been posted through my door either, I then proceed to look at the Amazon tracking page to see if there are any other clues. On Amazon it says Location: Porch.

Great I'll look in the p.. wait a minute we don't have a porch. Ridiculous. I have done a full perimeter search of our house. We don't have bins openly visible as they are down the side of our house behind a gate, but I checked in them and around them and nothing. I've searched high and low around the whole of my house and cannot find it. I have looked around neighbours front doors etc. and still nothing.

Not going to contact Amazon/HDNL till later in the day maybe they updated the tracking page wrong.

Grrr rant over.

Anyone had any experience with HDNL before?

I had a HDNL driver 2 weeks ago sign my name and lie that I had signed for it. I had to prove my signature and that I was at work at the time. The funny thing is someone was in the house all day. Still haven't received my parcel from euro car parts. I have never had trouble with a delivery company before but looking at their reviews I'm not surprised at the service I received.

Yea, I too have had good and bad experinces with various courier companies. DX Secure around my area are worst with DHL and HDNL not too far behind Royal Mail and DPD for me are always great.

Yodel is utter rubbish around my area.

Best I know are RM and DPD. RM because our postie is always friendly and the sorting office is just down the road and DPD because they text you the time they will come :)

This is what Amazon have said:

I've contacted HDNL to try to trace your parcel. As soon as we hear back from them, we’ll contact you again by e-mail. If possible, we'll update you within 2 business days.

Royal Mail are shocking here. They changed my postman a few weeks ago and since then my mail has been late, squished up and soiled. And a miserable git. He once actually told me it wasnt his job to keep bringing me stuff

The one before him was perfect though. Always on time, polite and chatty when you have to sign something. Mail almost always undamaged.

HDNL/Yodel is the same. Most our drivers are fine, some are very good and some are down right awefull (mainly the agency drivers). Obviously when you look online its only the bad stuff that gets mentioned, thats the same with almost any company in any industry.

Take it to the police? Signing someone elses name is fraud. The least you can do is get the thieving driver sacked.

Funnily enough. I have been sat in all day waiting on my new keyboard from here!

DPD usually deliver here around 11am. Bit weird.

My dad had a chainsaw delivered by a courier while they were out. The courier reported that the chainsaw was left on the front doorstep. I mean really? Leaving a large package worth quite a bit of money on the front doorstep?

Company arranged for another one to be sent out which he then received.

Two months later (it was winter) he went into his greenhouse to do some gardening and found the original chainsaw left in there. So never rely on what the driver records/says..............still it meant I got a free chainsaw :D

Well like I said I've done a perimeter search and can't find it :/

Probably stolen it, Amazon Kindle packaging is rather obvious.

Hermes lost 3 sets of 4200 microsoft points for me.

3rd one did eventually turn up and I got to keep it plus a full refund.

Actually im still having issues with City Link when I sent a monitor to a friend.

Got it sent to him, they carded him twice even though he asked for it to be delierved on the friday he was in, instead they "accidently" sent it back to me, being at work I got cared twice as well and when going online the reference number had a note saying "its now being delivered under "this reference number".

Later that week saw it had been marked as delivered.... to a house 2 hours away and in a completely different town from where my friend lives!
