Hmm, well ive been looking at these HDR images and thought id give it ago.

I dont think they have come out too great, but have to start somewhere!

Anyway C&C as usual:

On the above image, there is an annoying white spot in the middle of which i will try remove later.

I have to admitt, they are not great at all. Just wanting some general C&C on how to make them better?

Fiddle with the settigs more on #1, you've lost saturation in the sky somehow, but the blue in the trees implies one of your inputs has the colour there.
#2 isnt a great scene, but the HDR is effective :) Seems noisy, was it processed from 3 shots? Remember your ISO is effectively tripled that way, so get as low as poss.
What software did you use to do it?

Funny you should say that, i think the first picture the sky was actually like that. Very grey in an area and dark in another. But i will give it another shot.

The second shot, im not sure why it appears so noisy and yes they were all done by 3 shots.

They were done using Photomatix. As well as this - they have been stripped from Photomatix as a screenshot so this may make them look slightly worse.

Ah.
So your sky is just too damn bright then! Shame :) Go try again, I think that scene could be quite good.
E-mailed (trust addy) you some HDR links for info :)
Thankyou for the links.

Will try another one asap.

Thought id try it in black and white, but may use a different tool to make it look better. As i havent tried that new B/W Conversion yet.

What do you think?

I don't think it's too bright in general, I'm sure the HDR would've worked if the darkest image were more than two stops underexposed.

Sometimes when the sky is too bright I only put the normal e and the -2e into photomatix, it often works just as well.
Also both the scenes aren't overly interesting so even HDR will find it difficult to save them!
