Hi just been doing a scan on h drives. Have 3 C.D.E D&E was originally raided 0?
Im using Lsoft active@ hard disc monitor. C drive 150gb raptor 2007 model.
Well thats when pc was made.states it has 83% life.lol just checked now 86%? make it's mind up. it's in the spin up time all the other things say 100% and no bad sectors.
The other two are seagates 320gb. one i'm using as D drive comes back with
57% life.get 57% in raw read error rate.spin up time 97%.seek error rate is 82%.
other things say 100% no bad sectors.
Edrive when i replugged in came back sim just slightly diff things 59%.
My question is how long or low does it have to be before it causes a real problem?
reason ive been looking into it was because keep getting freeze lag issue in cod4.grid sometimes was wild (200+ down the mulsanne straight) you did something and sec after it responded? plus cod6 when you have video bit between missions in single play everytime video got full on/loud etc it just maxed out cpu and started lag/stutter till the load lightened off then was ok? tried uping cpu to 3.5ghz it's a 775 E6700 2.66.
I'm wondering if it's hard drive related? as get slight freezes in desk top when on say FB doing on of those little games on there if say move the mouse about aswell it slows down items.
Games are run from D drive.
Just changed from an 680i to an asus formula rampage.as thought it was mobo prob as 680's are known for raid/sata issues?.
Just hoping someone can help as it's peeing me off now.done a reformat while ago.was great for a while then started again.
Also in cod4 online they say i look normal when we recorded match.but they quite often look like they are lagging to me as there 1 sec and then 5-10ft next moment.

If you have Windows 7 it'll tell you before the drive completely breaks, however don't rely on that as when my 1.5TB backup drive failed Windows 7 told me literally an hour before it died, not nearly enough time to back it up (luckily I didn't need to).

You could also see what Speedfan says about the SMART readings

I'm on vista still for time being! whats speedfan or is that a user on here?
Was also wondering if it could be a conflict even between raptor 10.000 rpm and seagate @7200 rpm?

Pc's are like woman when they are ok there great.when there bad there an rse ache and need lot's of attenion
