HDtach test on my Samsung

Hi, Just ran the quick test in HDtach 3.0 on my Samsung spinpoint SP2504C 250gb sata II drive. Just want to find out if these results are roughly what you would expect.

I've kept the drive as a single partition. Is this ok or can I improve performance by partitioning the drive. If so, what would be the best arrangement?

I'm thinking also, when I can afford it going for a second drive to set up in raid 0. How would I need to partition 2 drives for best performance?

Pretty much spot on . Average for 7200rpm drives is 57-60MB/s.

cant remember the average read but from a single spinpoint 200gb drive i got a burst speed of 177 MB/s so sounds about right
