HDTV recommendations?

Thats the annoying thing, I did phone up but they told me it was an internet only offer and couldnt be done over the phone,, must be a few muppets mixed in with the good people working there, lol

I was just thinking though, if they did admit to taking the money and somehow find my missing order, I bet they would then refuse me the 20% off as it only applies to first orders :(

Shame u didnt use a credit card cause they can sort these stores out, the stores dont want to argue with a big credit card company and risk being blacklisted so to speak; since when people cant use their major credit card they will look elsewhere. Its an advantage that u ultimately have to pay for though.

OK,, finally got a sensible person on the phone today at freemans, (must be national muppets day off day, lol) and she admitted they have made an error, their end and have applied for £599 from my visa which is currently being ''held'', she said the money has not actually been taken? I dont know how these debit transactions work but my money not being taken by freemans but just ''held'' by them is still leaving me unable to withdraw any money from my bank.. Thing is at least she acknoledged i had placed an order and it was being processed not like the muppet yesterday who said they have not charged me...she also spoke to the supervisor and said when the money is actually taken it will definately be £480 not £599,, looks like im getting a £480 hdtv after all :D

Also if your gonna use them you CAN order by phone and get the 20% off your first order, The supervisor told me to ignore the freemans employed muppet I spoke to who told me this was an internet only offer.. to be fair maybe she meant the 25% offer was online only, anyhow that one didnt work for electrical items..

good luck all

can u say useless? if not just say freemans instead!

yeah your talking about the freeview model, I saw it was 7 days till in stock so i was waiting till it came in so i could order it, then it suddenly shot up to 22 days  , i decided on the non freeview model which was in stock coz i couldnt wait....cant you change your order??

lol ive spoken to the,, their system does not allowed orders to be "changed" cancelled and new orders placed yea...

their internal systems are really crap. its like they have zero communication with their buyers also, as they could not, or would not tell me how many units had been ordered in (to fulfil backorders) - (btw i work in a trading department in a rather large b2b corp) and i KNOW that their buyers must Know without doubt how many are coming in and when they are coming in... support told me they wouldnt know until the date (which was 7 days now 22)

but who just orders in a random number of samsungs? if i was a buyer i would certainly like to know how many were expected into stock to fulfiul BO's especially with year end so soon, and orders to fill etc

i have phoned them approx .. 10-15 times over the last 3-4 weeks (account/availability issues) and have not once had a satisfactory response.

i just wish i could have picked the unit up elsewhere, and that id moved in when some high streeters had it on their web @ £650... (now 750 gah!!!)

While I agree in principal, I have heard of other etailers not knowing exact quantities of items arriving before this. They always blame the Manu for not telling them - but I would guess that even if freemans or whoever said that they were expecting at least x amount and you were X+3 on BO or whatever you probably wouldnt buy from them............

YOu made a great choice, but I am trying to hang on for the 32" freeview model myself

heh, if i was a buyer, i would deffo know the exact quantity due in (afterall, i would be invoiced for eahc and every single one of them on the po i would have raised to order them in originally!) - they dont just have samsung trucks arriving daily with x unknown quantity of lcds stashed on the back, it just doesnt work like that)

they may even go through a disty, but having looked at the stock in the channel, i know there is not many of these units floating around (i know the cost prices and availability from x number of suppliers out there)

anyway i might give them a rant on the phone tomorrow!

good luck with yer 32". is too big for what i need (PC replacem, ent and some TV work) the units always look nice in the retail stores thogh!

Just spotted this thread after seeing turtle3 referring to it from the Samsung 26" thread.

I told my cousin about this freemans offer and he placed an order towards the end of February/early March. He got an email earlier today from Fremans saying they haven't got any stock of the 26" with freeview and are expecting to have them in stock around mid-April.

He rang when he got home, the TV had been delivered, so others on here might appear without notice as others have in the past. :)

sorry to bump such an old topic, but I am thinking about buying this TV... Has anyone else had any problems with Freeman’s? They seem to be the cheapest place to buy this TV (with the 20%) and has anyone had any experience with the personal accounts?
