Head to Head - Walters vs van den Bujis vs Kaladze vs

Plus I think it was Hazard that scored the penalty that Wootton conceded to make it 3-3, Chelsea still scored 2 more goals after that.

p.s sorry, miss read what you wrote, my bad :/

plus the penalty Wootton gave away was harsh, and at 5-4 I dont think you can blame the loss on him. He was just an unfortunate scapegoat. Most of the defenders were pretty weak at the end, Tunncliffe was like a headless chicken trying to mark Hazard setting up Ramires for the 5th goal. TBH United were only still in the game cos Chec was pretty poor with closing down Nani and Hernandez (i think), plus the penalty Buttner gave away would be the one id have found infuriating if I was a Man Utd fan

Yea but you see stuff like that most weeks even from experienced players. Skrtel vs Man City early this season with a howler of a pass back which was worse than Woottons as he didnt even look at where his keeper was.

Van der Vaart vs Stutgart

This thread was really to see who had been the worst player for a club in a single game though and I dont think Wootton played terrible at all, it was just an unfortunate penalty that Ramiers made the most of and the header back was just tiredness and inexperience.

But in the context that if he had done neither we would have won the game then it was horrific to watch. For instance vdv didn't make that pass minutes after he gifted the other team a penalty which cost them the lead.

Of course isolated incidents happen. I'm stating that wootton made numerous mistakes, one after the other which were 100% conducive to us losing the game. Just like Palermo's were.

Even I'm getting bored with constantly discussing United players on here. Bit of variety would be nice. :p

United players always get discussed on here cos if Manchester United players do anything bad then their fans think its the end of the world :) and they would rather blame an inexperienced kid than than blame Sir Alex for putting out possibly the most inexperienced defense that Chelsea has ever been fortunate enough to play against in a match between Premier League opposition.

tbf we had no Smalling, Jones or Vidic fit at the time of that game so had to wrap Evans and Ferdinand in cotton wool. If the game had came just 7 days later we'd of had a much stronger defense out and would have won the game (as we should have anyway)

I was at the game and feel sorry for the guy - could tell it wasn't his day when he had a shot that cannoned off his face and out for a goal kick! :D

He's a character though and will bounce back - but he was dreadful.
