Head tracking for flight/driving sim?

What's currently the best on the market for tracking your head in flight or driving sims besides VR? Is it TrackIR?

TrackIr 5 Premium Head Tracking for Gaming

This seems to be the best... but save up and buy a VIVE/Rift

TrackIR is pretty good for the money, I find it really useful in Elite Dangerous. VR is the next step up, but it's to early for me to buy into it atm. It's too expensive and there aren't enough good games for it yet.

For about £15 you can have your own home-made system

The video I made wasn't actually very indicative of my setup. It actually works extremely well.

I'm quite comfortable with working with electronics and soldering, so I might do this until I see a decent price for the TrackIR
