I have just got a DVD Head unit and it has 1 cable which has to be connected to the hand break cable?

How can i do it so i dont have to connect it to the hand break cable?

its probably just a switch, so it turns the screen off when your moving. I'd guess either shorting the 2 wires together or earthing a wire would do the trick.

edit - beaten to it. lol
 
ask my dad that he said that should work. so the cable that needs to go to the hand break cable just connect to the body.

Earth it as everyone else has said :) . Had mine fitted professionally in my new car and even they did it that way.
 
i went into halfords to but an iso block for mine as i didnt want to cut up the original wiring, and the guy in there just told me to make sure that i connect the hand brake cable to an earth point. it was mentioned that if they fit the headunit it HAS to be connected properly, but once out of their workshop do what you want.

obviously people seem to care about this as much as others do about using their mobile phones!

first night i had mine in i went out and got pizza, just sat in the car watching MI:3 while waiting! :D

made some awesome MTV style dvd's to watch/listen to while driving. i am considering adding a 'concealed' switch into the cabling though, so if the fuzz stop me then i can just flick the switch, and the screen will cut out.

Had a guy phone work 4 times asking the same thing 4 times and it just had to be me who answered the phone 4 times. :(

He seemed to have an issue with it even though it was as simple as connecting it to an earth.
