Headlight bulb recommendations?

Any reccomendations on decent dipped beam lights? I'll probably get some for the MR2 as the current ones are a little orange.

I just go into Halfrauds and get their 130w main, 90w dipped, combined headlight bulbs, or the same wattage but seperate bulbs, depending on which car I am replacing the bulbs in

Yes they are strictly illegal, but who is going to tell.

Pair of those gives plenty of light in all conditions.

A quick flash of those bad boys, to muppets travelling in the opposite direction with main beam on all the time usually does the trick.

Wont this flash up the bulb warning on the OBC?

Add a 50w resistor into the circuit (same as is needed on LED indicators)?

Anyway, new headlights? Different pattern or failing reflector? (which is doubtful on your car)

Another vote for the nightbreakers here. I have them for dips and main beams - they are absolutely brilliant for night time country driving (they were amazing up in the lake district over the weekend!)

Can't lenses be polished back to a better than new finish?

Not easily, no. The lenses cannot be replaced, and you can't easily polish them. The only way to do it is to wet sand them which requires skill I don't have and also removes the protective coating from the lense meaning they are back to cruddy in 6 months rather than a few years.

They were the only imperfect part of the car so they needed to be replaced.

Had they gone slightly milky/cloudy? I went and looked at an E class on Thursday that was suffering the exact same thing, if so. Like the inside had got went and condensated a little.

I thought about polishing them too but they looked too far gone.

Holy thread revival! Sorry but no point in starting another thread.

Phillips Xtreme here in both main and dip beams E90 330, very pleased. Powerbulbs, £39 delivered.

Would have liked Xenons from the factory, but beggars can't be choosers!

We wetsanded some a while back, not as daunting as it seems tbh, you do need a rotary or such like to make life easier.
