Barclay card were offering the same to me... Its a good option for the iPhone, allowing you to get a cheap monthly contract (yes it'll work out more expensive, but if you cost it over 24 months, it is cheaper

Is it though? I just worked out that 15/month sim only deal for two years plus the purchase cost of a 32gb 5s is only £30 cheaper than £42/month for two years on a contract.

Depends on what they are charging for the phone (plus it means the phone isn't locked and you're not locked into a contract so you get to 'upgrade' earlier if you so wish).

The margin between the two is getting smaller and smaller though I agree

Exact same boat. Wanted a laptop for years and this looks too good. Just that £100 a month you won't have to spend.

how does the battery life compare? i do a lot of travelling and moving around

I can get a (work) days use out of it no problem. Yes the air will give you a lot more battery power (most likely last you all day and all evening), but it doesn't have the screen, which I wasn't too fussed about at first (I wanted more power) but now I've got it, I don't think I could go back to a non-retina screen - it pains me to look at the attached monitor on my desk!

To compare, I can tell a little difference when comparing my 2013 MBA vs my mate's MBP Retina. Is it worth the reduction in battery life? I'd say no.

I never have to worry about the Air's battery life, and it is so thin and nimble. I carry it in my rucksack and I can't feel it's there at times.

If you're travelling a lot, it has to be the MBA for me. I really don't see how people make such a big deal over the screen.

You only way for you to decide is a trip to the Apple shop, or nearest computer store. I'd only buy direct off Apple online's student store so you get the 3 years warranty included.

I went for the 15" and I carry it everywhere... I carried my 13" 2009 MBP everywhere and this feels much lighter (despite being similar weights which is weird). I've never once thought that it was too big or cumbersome. I've never once thought I'd like more battery as it gets me though the day on a single charge easily.

I didn't get the difference between the screens and didn't think too much of the retina screen (I have the non-retina iPad mini which is fine for me), but comparing the 2009 MBP and 2013 rMBP, I just can't go back. The MBA has a better screen than the MBP, but it still isn't as crisp as the rMBP.

As said by Scythe, go to the store and look for yourself. Thats what I did and I walked out with the 15" :p after thinking about the 13" MBP and the MBA.

So I ordered a retina 13inch with 512gb and 16gb ram through my girlfriends uni apple site then the internet died before I got the finance papers through. Now vcsncelled and have to wait till I go back to her uni again grrrrrrr and it's a 3 week wait for that config to

So very tempting to get a 32GB 5s and 32GB iPad Air…

I want a 32GB Air for myself and a 5c as a gift for someone.

Do you guys know if you can get financing in store and if you can use it with gift cards, misses got me a gift card for my bday last year which I'm yet to use.
