Heads up: Most PS1 FF's £4 on PSN

I just can't imagine FFVII looking at all good enough to play on a 40 inch tv

I played FFVIII on a 47 inch 1080p a few years ago. Of course it looks poo it was written for a 640x480 20-something mhz 2mb ram console! The gameplay is still epic though and remember FFVIII just wouldn't run on the PS3 (at least it didn't on my 60GB one).

Tempted to pick up the other ones as Ive got 7/8 - not having played them are they worth it or just having 7 and 8 enough PS1 FF? Also the PSP versions I guess would work on the Vita?!?

Nice. I've already got 7 and 9, will be grabbing 8 tonight since it's cheap

I'd advise everyone to steer clear of 6 on the PSX though, the loading times are horrendous.

Yeah but it's on CD. They made a horrible job of porting it and it takes like 3-4 seconds to load just the menu when you press the menu button lol.

Hasn't changed on the PSN version, I made the mistake of buying it

Cheers Ascendancy, sounds like I just need to add 9 to 7 and 8; wasnt sure if I could do the culture shock of going pre-7 anyway...

I still think 6 is the best one out of the lot. I'd just avoid the PSX port. Get it on the GBA if you can, or play the SNES version.

It is worth it, providing you can overlook the dated 3D graphics. It really hasn't aged well, and if you don't have the nostalgia factor in play then you might not enjoy it.

Might have to check these out - never played the old FFs (never owned a console!) but really enjoyed going through FF13, and I know a lot of people view the old ones as even better.

Any advice on which one in particular to have a look at?

I bought FF9 for £8 ages ago, still only on disc 2

I did buy FF7 last night, decided to skip FF8 though :O
