Heads Up UFC 59 **SPOILERS**

Thats pretty much conformation that AA has a decidedly average chin. I'd of prefered if that ref had given it maybe 2 or 3 more seconds, its not like those punches Tim was throwing were particularly powerful, but I guess he was closer in than the camera was, so maybe he was out of it, although tbh he sat up straight away and looked almost fine.

I'm unsure about the Diaz/Sherk descision too, to me Diaz looked fully in control of the fight, the fight probably would have benefited from 2 more rounds.

The Pe de Pano/Monson fight was abit boring, bad style match up tbh.

Forrest/Tito fight was very good, although you could tell Tito wasn't at 100% at all. However I think that's what made the fight good.

Props to Tanner for a great fight & a nice sub.

Karo Parisyan/Nick Thompson was a really great brutal fight, Karo looked fantastic dropping an evil elbow onto the other guys eye.

Good event, roll on Pride's open weight tourny.
:D

Just noticed highlights of UFC59 on Bravo tonight at 10pm which is great for me cause I forgot all about it till 10 minutes ago.

And after a search on here, the event was last week. How the hell did I miss it, where did my sky guide reminder go to? and I even missed this thread with me being in SA everyday. :(

Sorry if I start to discuss it tomorrow a week late. :p

just watched it from SKy plus - good scrap the ortiz fight - i think he just shaded it.

Thought the ref was far to quick to stop the fight in the AA fight - shame.

I thought that originally, but AA wasn't in a state where he was defending himself and Tim would have been more than willing to keep knocking the hell out of him, so a fair stoppage I think.

When Tim Silvia went down, he went down on his back the worst way to fall out of the two. Here he could defend with his feet and hands, and gain an extra few seconds to recover.

Now when Arlovski went down, he went down face first which is the worst way to fall. When he was down, Silvia held him down and fired a few shots until the ref stopped the fight. Arlovski tried to defend with his hand over his face but when your face down with someone like Silvia on top of you, you really don't have the time to defend properly especially when you in that position were you have very few options.

McCarthy could have waited a few more seconds but the chances of Arlovski getting out were slim. What makes me ponder that he stopped the fight too soon is the fact that Arlovski hand a hand up trying to protect himself and straight after it was over, he got up like he had never been hit.

Silvia got lucky when he fell on his back and lucky Arlovski fell on his front. If it was the other way around, Silvia would have lost.

I just hope the UFC make a rematch sometime soon.
