ive just installeda chrome addon called stealthy and changed it to usa. logged into netflix and it brought usa version up and omg. there are hundreds more tv programs and films, all how i met your mother, lost, how its made, myth busters, true grit etc. foreg, the hd section on the uk has 19 pages, where as, the section for hd on the usa version, has 93 pages.

so just a heads up and enjoy until uk acquires more licences

Just set up an account with Netflix and am going to try it for a month to see if i like it,So far seems very good though,A wide range of movies and i can use the service through my 360.

Although it seems to be missing some films,For example you type in Arnold Schwarzenegger and only 2 films come up,No Terminators...No Predator,Running man ets which is a little poor :/

Thanks for the heads up though will try that on PC as i use Chrome aswell. !

I don't even bother with the UK Netflix on my WDTV SMP. If you change the DNS to 208.122.23.22 on the WDTV and then sign in to Netflix you'll get the US version. It puts the UK Netflix to shame but then it has been going a lot longer.

thanks for that. i did google how to do it as someone suggested it in one of my posts, but all i could find was buying a proxy server ip or something, this is a lot simpler, and free :) plus you just turn it on/off to get whatever stuff you want :)
there is also a firefox addon too for those that dont use chrome.

WOW! Thank you so much. Not just for the Netflix thing, but now I can listen to online radio stations from the US (back home)! I didn't know about this stealthy thing!

OK it won't accept my UK login - The login information you entered does not match an account in our records. Remember, your email address is not case-sensitive, but passwords are.

Only way to get it to accept is to change DNS settings? Is that in the router and then reboot the router yeah?

I'd recommend anyone watching netflix on a PC/Mac to use Chrome and the Stealthy extension, otherwise you have to pay to use the Unblock US DNS address.

However, on any other device like a PS3 or Xbox 360, use the Unblock US DNS settings from their website as it works for free :)

e.g. for a PS3... http://support.unblock-us.com/customer/portal/articles/291530

And to be clear, you don't have to go to the US netflix website, or have a US account. Just use the Chrome extension/DNS settings and your normal UK login details and it will automatically switch to US content.

But if your login doesn't work on the US site? Create an account on their too?

i got the login error too when i first did it, i just clicked dont know password, it allowed me to change it then iwasa ble to login to both netflixes, i dont know if it actually does anything but it seemed to work and has ever since.

Just go to the netflix site you would normally go to and enter your usual username/password, there's nothing special about it. I've never had a problem using the same details/bookmarked website for the 2 sets of content. There should be no need to create a US account.

You don't have to specifically go to the US version, the DNS trick takes care of all that as what you see is based on location.

One thing I found using a US online radio station player, once you've connected, you can turn off stealthy and it still plays everything fine. Since stealthy significantly slows down your internet connections speed, turning it off brought everything back up to normal speed-wise, but still let the player work. I don't know if that would work for Netflix too, haven't tried.

Yay, thanks for this.
I've been using chrome for a while and been using netflix since it came to the UK.

So now both my browser and PS3 are signed into the US Netflix :-) , is there anyway to get it to work on android ?
