headset recommendation

I hope so. Just placed my order for the 2 mics and the headphones. £171 with delivery! For some reason amazon is being weird. I ordered the mics whilst it said they would be here tomorrow if i ordered in the next 6 hours.... delivery date: 09/09/2013 so yeh, mic is going to be slow, but the headphones will be here tomorrow
 
And I forgot to order cable extensions..... I so hope the come tomorrow else I will have to wait even longer. Will let you all know how they go
 
pick one up in Asda, it seems to be decent quality, the headphone lead connects with a satisfyingly positive click and the thickness is the same as the lead from the headphones, so not bad for seven or eight quid.

Really? Well that is a shock; Bieber wearing credible headphones. Still can't make up for the untold misery he has caused to the free thinking peoples of the world.

Hmm. The 80Ohm version cable is not as short as I thought it was. The 32Ohm version certainly has a short cable. Possibly the 80Ohm version is aimed at home users. Maybe for those who just prefer a straight cable.
 
With a 3m cable its pretty long but I think it would have been better if it were straight. As the coils will pull on the headphones while being worn I should think
 
Ok I can now 100% saw the 80ohm version has a straight cable. Luckily my mics, and extensions all have just arrived. I tested them on my phone and they work. Not loud but they work

On my pc... well they sound great. But didnt seem very loud....

Then I remembered the volume in windows was turned down! So put that to full, changed windows audio to the highest 16bit sound settings. Absolutely great. Ive only tested it on some low quality mp3 files at the moment. Will crank up my spotify account later and play some extreme quality songs :-)

5m extension was way too long with the straight cable, but I must admit it is an amazing quality cable. Nice loud click, and great cable thickness

They might even sound a little better after a few hours of loosening up, although that might be due to the owner getting more used to the sound - maybe it's the listener that gets "burned in" :D
 
Im currently in a 6 hour game session and they sound much better now. Im hearing a lot more in my games. Only issue is, im shouting when using the mic as I cant hear anything. That will need some getting use to

I have it on. But through my headphones its very quiet. Can hardly hear it. Talking to my brother he can hear me loud and clear. Mic volume is on full. Its a little strange
 
Yep. Its on 100% and ive now increased it by 10db
I can hear it slightly more asif I was talking myself. But im unsure if im just talking louder to compensate
 
You may have created a monster!

Going from my low quality mp3s which sounded.... well rubbish..... to my extreme 320kbps spotify music.... omg im in heaven. After 7 hours gaming constantly, im still listening to music with these headphones! Now I was never one for headphones, I always hated the feel of them but I think these have literally saved my ears from hell! I'm so impressed i am considering buying a nice new sound card in 2 weeks just to see what they can do!

Music sounds amazing, bass is reproduced well. And they are plenty loud now with some good quality sound. Cant wait to see how they are with a good sound card
 
I agonized over getting these DT 990 pros but within a few seconds of listening to some music I realised that they were a total steal at £125 (ish).
 
Only you can decide that, the sound card route suited me best because almost all of my listening is done through the PC. If I want to go mobile then I use my Cowon D2 with Yuin PK1's.
