Hey guys,

Just wondering what my options are here, I have a 5.1 headset that uses the sound outputs on my motherboard. I also have speakers that use a 3.5mm jack so I don't want to keep swapping the two over.

Can I get a switchbox or something, what does everyone else do?

2 sound card.

Mine is like this.

I want to use wireless I switch to my Tactic headset.
Wired , I used my X-fi and realtek for my 5.1 spk.

You can re-assign jacks, so when you connect the speakers to the blue 'line in', just select 'headphone' when the box pops up asking what you just connected. I know they are speakers and not headphones, but you're already using the connection the speakers would normally use for the headset. Shouldn't make any difference, as at the end of the day, 'front speaker out' and 'headphone' are both stereo.

All ports are amplified to an extent, but there is no extra amplification for headphones. If the 'green' port had extra amplification for headphone use, there would need to be an option to disable it, as you can with the Xonar DG/DGX or any sound card that has a shared headphone/front speaker port. Basically, motherboards would need to have headphone amplifiers. To my knowledge, none do.
