Anyone know of any speciality takeaway places that do healthy food?

If not what are the best choices from normal takeout places for people who are health nuts and have food allergies etc.

Me I'm allergic to wheat/gluten/soy and I basically don't touch any grains at all, also lactose intolerant :(

I also try to not eat a lot of pork as my stomach just never seems to agree with it.

I mainly eat a lot of nuts (almonds mostly) and fruit for snacks.

Chicken kebab is probably the healthiest takeaway you can get. A proper chicken kebab though, not some cheap cut off a roll one.

Healthy + takeaway.. does not compute.

Yes maybe but I thought there might be some places lingering around :D

There are big stores dedicated to healthy organic food like planetorganic in london but I don't have time to go all the way there all the time :p

Not to mention there expensive :/

It's just nice to not have to cook every night especially on the weekends when you have your mates round or whatever and there all ordering pizza and whatever else and I'm sitting there making my own food in the kitchen lol.

http://www.aragosta.co.uk/80040/info.php?p=1

Aragosta boasts an extensive menu which caters for gluten-free diners - gluten- free pizza or pasta (linguine, penne or fusili)

Just came across these guys, claim all there pizzas and pastas are gluten/wheat free ;o

Although they probably use milk for the pizza base i would imagine...

I use egg for my homemade pizza bases although it's not quite the same :p

Others may disagree but I think KFC isn't too bad compared to others. At least you're getting real chicken/protein rather than a 3 months old bun.

Yeah I thought when the first guy said Subway he was being sarcastic.

I remember watching something on TV and they done a test with a few of the fast food places and Subway came out worst.

mainly due to their false advertising, a healthy sub consists of 6 inches white bread, some turkey or ham and some salad.

no sauce or mayo, no cheese, etc.

also all of their drinks apart from water are also unhealthy, so is their cookie or crisps.

i bet you nobody on here has had one of these healthy subs, everybody has cheese, sauce or mayo and meatballs, etc.

What a load of rubbish. There is nothing unhealthy about their drinks, their cheese, sauce, etc etc. It's about moderation, simple.

Integrity of ingredients is likely to be biggest problem, selection of foods at some places makes it relatively easy, just where the meat, for example, has come from, how its been slaughtered, organic or not / anitbiotics and chemicals in the animals feed etc.

I cant possibly see what is unhealthy about a lamb shish and chicken shish combo with pitta bread and loads of salad.

As for others. My take:

Pizza - All unhealthy, but sticking to a veg one is best as the meats are incredibly fatty
Indian - Chicken Tikka ok. Anything masala bad
Chinese - Not sure how unhealthy this is. Down to the dish probably and there's too many to go through.
KFC - Your best bet is the new brazzer
McD's - The deli wraps are OK. McDonalds are not too bad now tbh
Subway - Might claim to be low in calories but use more salt than any other fast food outlet.

lol, in that case why dont you prescribe he eats lard every other day, because in moderation it is good for you.

he asked what is healthy, not what is healthy in moderation. everything is healthy in moderation, thats why its called moderation. ;)
