Depends how much you want to throw at it, but it's worth looking into optical armbands like the Scosche Rhythm+ or Mio link. Generally more accurate and doesn't involve faffing around with a chest band that needs just the right conditions to work and restricts your breathing anyway.

as I do a lot of fast walking now (phisio told me to do this) id like to get one for cycling, and walking , as I only have the garmin 800 with chest strap
I'm not sure I agree with that. There's plenty of articles where optical meters are put against chest straps but those are kind of useless without some kind of control measurement because you don't know which one of them is out.
Had mine 2.5 years and still going strong, used it Bluetooth and ANT+ with: iPhone4 (BT Strava), Galaxy S5 (ANT Ipbike & Strava), Garmin 810 (ANT) and with Sunnto ANT+ USB stick with Zwift, TrainerRoad etc.
