It looks like my mum has had a silent heart attack. She is talking to her gp but in the meantime I wanted to get her a fitness tracker, specifically heart rate and stuff like steps. Obvs want it to be accurate and relatively low cost - is sub 100 too much to ask? I'd want heart rate tracking 24/7.

I've already seen very conflicting reviews of fitbits hr accuracy

I have a Garmin Forerunner for running that I use in tandem with a Polar H10 chest strap (widely considered the gold standard for measurement due to ECG versus optical measuring).

There is very little meaningful deviation in heart rate between the two, to the point i'm likely to ditch the H10 soon as I find a strap uncomfortable when running. The only thing i'd say is that when you push yourself hard, high 170/180BPM range, the fore runner can take longer to settle back down versus the H10, not a concern for your use case though.

Hope she's doing ok.

Sorry to hear and hope she recovers well.

Just a comment - unless she's been advised to, based on my personal and recent experience, constantly monitoring the numbers whilst ill or following an illness may not be that constructive, mentally or physically.
