Hey guys, just opened my computer up and its pretty hot in their, the Memory is warm, graphics card is pretty hot so im slightly concerned. In the BIOS the CPU temp is normally around 45-50 degress, i havent overclocked my machine or anything. So should i be worried?

Thanks

What is the system and what cooling do you have on it? It might be that you need a couple of extra fans or it might be because you have a notably hot-running CPU such as a Prescott anyway. :)

Sorry should have metioned, silly me. Its a AMD Athlon 64 3400+ with the stock cooler, 1GB DDR Memory, ATI X1950XT GPU and a Seagate Hard Disk. Im pretty much boiling it down to the GPU since it never used to get this hot, anyway i can reduce the heat?

Also just reading the instrutions of the Artic Cooler, since i have it already then my Brother came running in and knocked it out of my hand and the bit where the paste is hit the floor, whats the best way to clean it so i can apply some AS5 once i get my new system sorted out? Hopefully tuesday. :D

If you are removing thermal paste from the cooler, you can use elbow grease and kitchen roll or something alcohol based like lighter fluid will also work but make sure to wipe any residue off very well.

Your heat problems could be down to the new GPU, either because of the heat it generates or perhaps because it has altered the airflow path through the case. :)
