I've got an old 60gig Deathstar (GXP60?) from a few years back and have just stuck it in a new Freecom media player.
While uploading some divx files onto it i got a failed balloon and one anout delayed write errors.
I opened the media player to stick the drive on the main rig to do a check and it was red hot!!
I did a dull format and check and after all that it was cooler than when putting a divx file on over the network
I was going to get a 300gig drive for it. Would a newer drive run cooler? Its runninf without the side on at the moment and hasn't faulted in 1 hour of transfering.
