Heat Pumps: anyone have one/thought about it?

For my mate this was all in, replacing some rads, new cylinder, and they have space to put it outside.

For ours I am hoping for minimal work as pipework was replaced with larger bore stuff during a replumb 5 years ago and rads oversized by 40%.

When we hit winter / cold weather I'll turn my gas boiler down to 55c and see how well our existing radiators can heat the house. It should give us a good idea of the viability of a heat pump for our house
Sounds like a good idea, I may be doing the same regardless as the boiler is on its last legs if we don't get a quote soon.

Just had the chap out and initial evaluation is a 10kw unit. Will hopefully get an idea on cost end on next week or early the week after.

that must include volume around them so they can breathe, For example these are the dimensions of the large unit we have been looking at 1480 x 1100 x 450

I hope so, otherwise i have been wating to not replace a boiler for the best part of a month :) I almost caved and lit a fire this morning as the temperature has definitely dropped in the last few days. (just in time for the 24° at the weekend)

So I am 4 and a half months in to this journey and still don’t have a quote. It has been an absolute shambles from start to finish. Constantly chasing and systems deleting data, it’s like a farcical comedy.
