Heath Ledger...Dead

Damn, 28 is so young... Very sad indeed.

Got a text from mates back home, but could hardly believe it.
Don't think this was anything but a tragic mistake with sleeping pills IMO.

Award? Think maybe....

Especially under the circumstances, his wife left him, became depressed and commited suicide by the looks of things.

Altho i think he could have been stronger for his daughter but i dont know the ins n outs.

Very sad! :(

RIP to a very young father!

From what i've heard it was perscription drugs that he's died from... and that it was accidental.

Still very sad, he was cracking in Knights Tale.

EDIT - From the Beeb:

Police are reportedly investigating if the Australian actor - nominated for an Oscar for Brokeback Mountain - died of an overdose of prescription pills.

FFS this sick church again, you can find their phone number on the website, give these guys a call and give them hell. *******

I hate what these people do with the Bible, contorting it for their hate agenda.
I've tackled the God/homosexuality thing in other threads so I wont start it here too, but that attitude is just horrible and wrong.

Its always a shock and saddening to hear of people dying young.

That sucks, loved his role in a Knights Tale and he was a good actor in my opinion. It's not a way to go at 28 though, quite a fair bit of his life ahead of him still, shame he ended it.

i think 10 things i hate about u was an excellent movie he was a excellent actor he looked really good to be the joker 2
im looking forward to the new batman movie even if he isnt gonna be in anymore of them

R.I.P

I saw A Knight's Tale when it was out in cinema, and it was not long ago (few months ago) that it was again shown on Sky (on the late night shows on the terrestrial channels).

Gonna buy the dvds of this, and see what Brokeback Mountain and 10 Things I hate about you are all about!

28 :(

I see the connection between Michelle Williams (Jen from Dawson's Creek) - his ex-partner.

Also I used to always confuse Jake Gyllenhaal (Heath and Michelle's child's godfather) with Heath Ledger :S

Again I will apologize if any one was offended by my comment. But you can't deny it was a film about gay cowboys.

I too am quite shocked by his death. As soon as I saw something on telly about it last night I googled it to see if it was true. He was an absolutely brilliant actor.

What really shocks me is that most people first worry about whether a stupid film is coming out. Im sure his duaghter will be really pleased that batman is coming out even though she's lost her father.

Get off your giant politically correct horses and stop jumping on anyone that says the word "gay". Last I knew thats what homosexaul people wanted to be called. Hetrophobia is a bigger problem if you ask me, going by the way you've had ago at my comment. Which was "Sept for that gay cowboy film." Yet this comment didn't get any slagging off at all "Only reason that got so many awards is because it's a gay film, and it attracts a lot of gays ;o"

Actor Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose of six prescription drugs, with a combination of pain killers, tranquillisers and sleeping aids found in his system, officials said on Wednesday.

"We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications," the New York City Medical Examiner's Office said in a statement.

"Mr Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine."
