Gatwick second runway makes more sense IMO
Gatwick is the wrong (South) side of London, so it's a nightmare to get to for everyone not living in Brighton.

london only has one airport and that is city, the rest are just prefixed "London" to con people
Luton is not london
Stansted is even more not london
Southend......... now you are taking the ****
Heathrow is buckinghamshire
Gatwick is Surrey and if anything should be called Crawley Gatwick airport. But then who in their sane midn wants to fly to that **** hole called crawley ?

In that case why are we proposing extending Heathrow, let's sort this imbalance by bulldozing Tower Hamlets and building a proper London airport.

Heathrow is a London airport, the poster you're quoting has got a dodgy map!
Almost right, Heathrow actually is in London though, it is in the borough of Hillingdon (previously part of Middlesex as per most of London), not Buckinghamshire.
There is a similar thing with Birmingham International Airport - it is actually based in Solihull but calling it Solihull Airport probably wouldn't be too useful.
Unless Heathrow gets priority for some reason I’d be inclined to say it’s hust Luton being Luton...

It is afterall the worst airport in the country.

I really don’t miss flying from there.
There are many ATC strikes in mainland Europe which are having an impact on the network. Normal traffic regulation typically has very little impact on Luton departures. Part of the problem is airlines scheduling 40 departures an hour off a runway which can only legally accommodate half of that in the same time. That’s not the fault of ATC although many airlines will lay the blame at us. The other part is congestion in the airspace - it’s bloody busy up there and as it gets busier the delays will increase. It has finite capacity.I agree Luton is probably the ******** airport in the UK but no, the pilot says that air traffic control wont give the flight a slot as the London area is too congested so we cant take off till it clears a bit
Perhaps prioritising long haul aircraft instead then? That may explain why Luton is so much worse than other London airports, if it is only ATC, rather than Luton.
