Heating a small room

Guys

I'm sitting here in my office/computer room sporting about 6cm long nipples that would catch fish if allowed...

In my infinite wisdom I decided my computer would heat the room adequately so decided not to run a radiator when revamping the house. I would prefer not to go down this route now as everything is really nice and tidy :o

It's a small room about 6 x 8 and only houses a computer and books, etc. I've already installed one of the seal-able wall vents so no cold air comes from there, and it has insulated walls as well as double glazed windows installed so I don't think I can make any further minor adjustments.

So - does anyone have any recommendations for heaters that do not cost to much to run? Looking at £200 top. Any more than that and I'll just put these nips to use.

Cheers,

Get and oil heater - the most efficient of portable heaters excluding a gas heater, which wouldn't be appropriate for a small room without a flue being installed.

You decided to not install a radiator in a room because you had your computer in it... not only is this clearly not working... what would you do if it did work, but then you needed to change the purpose of the room (to say another bedroom) or you wanted to sell the house?

I cannot recommend an Oil Filled Radiator enough. Make sure its a Delonghi and you're sorted. They're cheap to run, heat up quickly and are brill! :D

Great stuff - I think I'll go with one of them.

Defiantly should have installed a radiator, but when we re-vamped the house none of the rooms had rads - we plumbed new ones into all the other rooms but left this one because it was going to be a storage room. We could install if needed but would prefer to pick this up next year - we've just had new carpet/skirting fitted and I really do not want to make a mess!

Clearly your overclock isn't sufficient, nor your insulation. My bedroom is I guess 12x14 and its currently 23 degrees in here :D. Just my monitor and PC on.

Multi monitor and more voltage! Or an oil-filled radiator: silent, efficient, cheap. Even a small one would be fine for that size room.
