Hi guys

Just noticed on the Artic cooling website the following picture of the Freezer 64 pro

http://www.arctic-cooling.com/cpu2.php?idx=80&disc=

I've had it so that the fan is next to the exhaust fan at the back of the case for almost a year now, and im thinking it could be the wrong way round looking at that pic.

It shows the hot air being blown our through the metal fins, which atm are pointing into my case instead of towards the exhaust fan.

So have I made a school boy error?[

Turned mine and my bros around now, lol cant believe i made that mistake. Already a 5 degrees difference at idle on mine and a huge difference to my brothers e6300 which would idle at 50 @ 2.3ghz and go to 60 stressed before, but now it runs at 53 @ 2.5ghz stressed :D:D

Should I buy a couple of tubes of thermal paste and apply new paste to each heatsink now they have been taken off and put back on, or will the old original paste be sufficient?

Thanks

GET NEW PASTE...DO NOT SWITCH ** PC BACK TILL U HAVE DONE SO

Ok, so what do I do when puttting the new paste on? Do i need to clean the old paste off the cpu and heatsink? If so how? Also how much do i put on?

Thanks

yes, clean all old paste, best to remove CPU from socket and wipe using a damp lint free cloth, ensurign no water hits pins.

Usign same cloth clean the heatspreader.

Then resocket the CPU once clean, put a pea sized amount of paste on centre on CPU and drop the HS onto it and lock into place.

ok thanks, pee size amount dosent sound much  theres quite a bit on there from the original stuff.

I'd say a Rice grain size piece so that should re assure you on the amount. To much is as bad as to little ;)
