Heatsink required for games?

hey guys,

thinking of upgrading from my 2tb game drive that is currently a Samsung 980 Pro with heatsink..to a 4tb Crucial without. Is it 100% advisable to get one with a heatsink or just for games, will that be ok?

yeah, I thought stuff it, decided to go with one with a heatsink now.

Keep in mind most midrange/higher-end boards already 'sink their M.2 slots and you can't fit a heatsink on a heatsink.

thanks for that, im just doing a straight swap with my 980 Pro with heatsink, and the replacement comes with one as standard, I won't be putting one on myself.

well..got my new NVMe drive. While it was a breeze to install, im getting 3.6tb of space, where the **** did the other 400gb go???

That sounds about right. Storage is advertised as 1000gb = 1tb, while Windows uses 1024 instead (actually shows tebibyte instead of terabyte). 4tb advertised works out to ~3.638tb odd.
