*** Heavy Rain - Official Thread ***

my crash was loading the next scene after the dead bird... yeah, that early on. and I had my sound lockup BEFORE that. fell through floor quite a bit later climbing a fence
 
Really baffled by the crashing and glitches people are suffering :( Not a single one in two completions for me.

Real shame it's ruining people's enjoyment as it's a cracking game.
 
GOTY for me. What i love about this game is that...it doesnt feel like a game.

Could be the beginning of something big....

and saying this just after playing some Uncharted 2..... which imo feels shallow and dare i say a "kids game" in comparison. Dont just mean by the 18 rating for that.

Also i previously thought Killzone 2 had best PS3 graphics.....no more...jeez almost photo-realistic faces.... Best realization of Rain i have ever seen *all formats* (previously Gears 1 held this title for me).

I just dont want it to end....:( unfortunately i reckon im about halfway though already (on a chapter with the Lt and FBI man on a mission together)

I hope it is brilliant because I've ordered a PS3 today on the strength of it,loved Farenheit on the pc and generally really enjoy story driven adventures so couldn't resist the urge to play Heavy Rain,here's hoping it lives up to the hype! User opinions on here seem to be encouraging but the numerous reports of crashes and lockups are slightly worrying.

I thought crashes and lockups were restricted to the domain of unstable cpu overclocks and unoptimized console to pc ports,surely a game optimised for a single platform should be solid as a rock.:confused:
 
Issues i had so far if falling through things and out of walls in the house, had to reload on a few occasions because of it.
 
guys I am loving the look of this game. I have an Xbox 360 and never really looked at the PS3 mainly due to the lack of games that arent already on Xbox, etc (dont flame me plz ;))

However as mentioned before I really love the look of this game and the whole idea. My question is...

Would you buy a PS3 to play it?

They eyes are great, don't look quite a dead as all other game eyes.

But sometimes this game looks stunning and sometimes it looks like GTA IV. It is strange, the only thing i can think if is cos most of the game was out sourced, so different teams doing different things, hence the disparity in quality of some parts.

I wouldn't spend 300 quid on one game.

But i would spend 300 to play this, the uncharted games, ratchet games, Infamous, GoW3, KZ2, MGSIV, LBP etc :p

had zero crashes. Only bug ive come across is sometimes a bit of the sound will cut out.


Oh came across slight screen tearing when "demoing" the office looks.

Ive buggered up a couple of scenes lol.. oh dear
 
Amazing game so far, especially the Mall. Even though i had already seen what happens nothing could prepare me for that scene :)

So much so that I met my daughter after school and walked home with her (much to her horror).
