*** Heavy Rain - Story Thread *** SPOILERS ***

I was the same, I decided it wasn't Blake and not to accuse him, I just then gave up on the ARI section , but Jayden didn't die.

Ah, dammit.

Also, anyone else get their mission bugged out when they were in the shop with Scott and Lauren? I was removing finger prints, went to leave, clicked "X Leave" then it did nothing and I was just left wandering around the shop, police never came and I couldn't leave. Had to reload the game and go through the whole sequence again, which was annoying as that old man is sssllllloooowwww.

Would be interesting to know what point/loading screen I would have earned the "Nerd" trophy on, on my first play through.

I stopped at "Hold My Hand" last night to continue today..

I thought before I turn it off i'll just got back and do "Sexy Girl" to see what clothes you could take off - (purely for research purposes)

When it went to the loading screen the trophy just popped up so I think I glitched it and received it earlier than I should have.

I thought I should have received it after "Solving The Puzzle"

Finished this last night :)

Set the controller scheme to hard and it found it was pretty tricky in places, but a good challenge (lol at those who ended up with dead characters!)

All characters made it to the final scene, but I didn't forgive Madison so Ethan and Shaun are shown in a new apartment at the end, Madison is signing books, Jayden throws his drugs down the toilet and Lauren spits on Shelby's grave.

I replayed the last scene again to see what I could change. If you fail the motorbike QTE with Madison then she won't warn Ethan. Shelby smashes Jayden, so basically you get gunned down. The ARI sections were cool.. I noticed the blood so I chose to "accuse Blake" before something happened.

Looking back I made a real mess of my morals. Saved shopkeeper, shot drug dealer, helped Gordi's old man, did all Ethan's trials but resisted the doctor.

I feel a "evil" playthrough coming on.

After a 6 hour stint between 8pm and 2am I finished my third playthrough last night, however after all that I didn't get the perfect crime trophy

So what did I do wrong?

I let the shopkeeper die, I wiped all my prints from the shop, I let Lauren and the guy with the dodgy ticker die and killed Madison in the secret room in Shelby's crib.

I ended up only taking Jayden to the final scene where Shelby shot him in the head. I did however save the kid before this.

So do I need to let the kid die? There are things online saying that maybe Ethan needs to be taken to the final scene and rescue Sean (before Blake obviously guns him down due to Madison not being around to warn him)

How did you guys get this one?

Only got 4 trophies left to get and I was hoping to wrap it all up last night so I can move onto Battlefield :(

Surely the kid needs to die, as he will have seen Shelby's face?!

That's what I thought but maybe the Perfect Crime is killing everyone but succeeding in finding a father who can save his son (who dies in the end anyway)

I did perfect crime last. I already had all the other endings through trial and error so I was looking for a quick way to do it. Thankfully he advice I read online and received from other people who did it was wrong and the way I guessed to do it was correct. (As I had played all other variations I knew what decisions lead to what outcomes, which helped).

Trophy is listed as :

"Perfect Crime - Clean Manfred's shop of evidence + Let Lauren, Hassan and Kramer die + Kill Madison and Jayden + Origami Killer free"

Hassan Dies, fairly straightforward

Lauren Dies, fairly straightforward

Clean Manfred's shop of evidence, fairly straighforward

Kill Madison, misleading. People/Sites say that Shelby has to kill them but in actual fact I let Doc kill her early on (saves a lot of later scenes occuring so playthrough is quicker).

Kill Jayden, similarly misleading, Earliest point I could kill him was when he meets Mad Jack, again saves a lot of later scenes occuring.

Oragami Killer free, technically he goes free at this point as if Ethan goes to the end alone he will die. BUT, not a perfect crime, so I got him arrested twice. Second time he gets arrested at On the Loose stops subsequent scenes occuring, saves more time. (Obviously Shaun dies as a result of this).

I don't have the game anymore, but I think this sequence of events stops a good 10 lengthy scenes playing in the latter half of the game.

I sat down and thought this through, with a list of all the scenes, and this seemed the quickest way to achieve things, if you manage to do it quicker please let me know as I would be interested to know where I went wrong.

I noticed last night that I haven't got the first trophy (for drawing + plates + kids)

I did them all, but I did put 1 plate down too hard in haste :o

A lot of people have had/are having trouble with the first trophy

I've completed the game 3 times now and not got it at all :(

I think you need to do that scene and then before it takes you to the mall quit back to the main menu and then load the mall chapter from fresh, I think then during the loading screen it pops up (so I've read, I've still to do it myself)

deliberately did a run through that tries to see Scot come out top (his tears over his brother won me over). So i got him snogging Lauren, takes out madison no worries. He tells his soon to be gf Lauren to stay with her mothers and he will be along shortly yet at the end of the game Lauren turns up has apparently done more investigating on her own finding out he wasnt hired by the families and figures hes the killer so bam headshot him.

its annoying as the script doesnt connect/make sense for her to do that. she was relying on him why would she suddenly not trust him and decide to go digging about in the other families?

Got ethan to fail all the trials but it doesnt really affect the end (hes still in his car trying to figure it out relying on madison phoning him). Still though shaun manages to escape (madison freed before getting choked by scott) so him and ethan new house happy ever after.
Was also very annoying that even though i chose not to cut off Ethans finger he was still holding his hand as if i had. That to me is where this game's linearity comes through. A very good game, with superb graphics imo (possibly best on ps3) but too linear. Admittedly to make it less linear they would probably have had to do a ton more video and script working but if they really believe in the format then this is what they have to do :) So not goty for me - a good game though deffo should be on any prospective ps3 owners must buy list. Too much loading as well though.... and some of the scenes just felt like "fillers" e.g. nurse scene.

traded it now anyways :D

Didn't think the graphics were that good, in some areas it looked great, in others not so much.

Uncharted 2 holds that crown I think, at least until God of War is out. ;)

just have to agree to disagree then...having played both UC2 and GOW3 demo saw absolutely nothing that blew me away graphics wise. UC2 graphics are good (esp the snow levels) really good even...but they still felt like "console-graphics" Whereas with HR it didnt feel like "game" graphics if you know what i mean :D Just felt totally different to other games out there i guess.

TBH I think you absolutely loved the graphics! Seems some people are just trying to be controversial just to have their voice heard (A similar analogy would be those people who say Wayne Rooney is rubbish). The graphics are of absolute beauty, everybody who has seen me play the game has been blown away by them

I found heavy rain beautiful in a really subtle way, the little movements of the character's faces, the kids running around down the street in front of a house. There's so many little things to see that made up a really impressive set.
