Currently playing through Alan Wake on the PC and enjoying it. One game that always caught my eye though for the PS3 was Heavy Rain, which seems to be of a slightly similar fashion (although also looks reminiscent of the Shenmue games in my opinion).

Do you think it will be a game I like if I am already enjoying Alan Wake? I like the whole concept of it being like an interactive movie.

If you like like that concept then go for it. I felt it was a masterpiece with regards to how the cinematics and gameplay intertwined. Its very well done, and the story is good too. Worthy of a play through that's for sure.

I'm playing through it at the moment, it's pretty good. You might want to watch a short gameplay video or two though because it doesn't really play like a normal game.

I find myself wishing that I'd actually played it sooner because the voice acting, animation etc does seem a bit clunky compared to games that have come out since, but it's still a good game nonetheless.

Oh yes deffo worth it.. Was worth the full price years ago great great game. I have just finished playing it through after a couple of years and STILL loved every minute of it. I have now got a lot of the trophies but a couple are a real pain to get. Especially the Good Driver and the one on the piano.. Still not got them.. :(

I enjoyed it, some of the QTE section were a pain in that it seemed they hadn't thought about how many fingers people have available (I ended up having to use my tongue for one).

Looking forward to Quantic Dreams next game Beyond: Two Souls which was shown at E3.

It was the main reason I got a ps3 :p and I wasn't disappointed it is a great game even though I am awful at QTE.

Definitely worth it.

I have only played through once, but obviously need to pick it up again soon to start working on some trophies. My question however, is for example, good driver. If you mess up and don't get it, do you have to finish the game, start another, and try again that way, or is there a 'try again' button?

Luckily, I managed to get good driver the first time around!

Well no not really.. You can restart that chapter and play it through again but you start back where you have to go to the garage and get the car. After doing that for the 5th time it gets annoying.. Its a little like the bit where you have to nurse the baby. I got right to the end and made a mistake on one of the last bits and had to redo it all again so that means get her out the bath etc.. Grrrrrrrrrrr.... !!!!

Ive only recently started playing this as it was always on my "to play list"
Loving it.. a LOT. The story is brilliant so far and the gameplay is refreshingly different.

Took me a little while to get into the controls, but I'm glad I stuck to it. Mind you, it's completely different than Alan Wake os much so I dont see any comparison at all.

Put it this way if I could have one PS3 game on the 360 (my only console) it would be Heavy Rain :).

Think the game worked better IMO with the PS move kit, the QTE were a bit of a pain at times...

It was an interesting game, like a movie in some ways. But you knew it was a game by the absolutely awful screen tearing... Which ruined the whole experience IMO.

I't certainly looks to have the potential to be a good game, however i'm yet to finish the prologue whereby you watch a man get showered and shaved, then plays with his kids and eats dinner....I was wondering weather i'd inserted the correct disk :p

It's worth it.. but I wouldnt compare it to Alan Wake or Shenmue. It's kinda like an interactive movie, it's not very long but it's still one of the best games PS3 has to offer IMO. But like someone said above, rent it rather than buy it.
