I have bought a 600kg marble statue. The base is 50cm x 30cm and height 180cm.

I am just wondering will it be okay to put it in my ground floor hallway without causing any problems?

I have also been told they will deliver it to front door so I have no idea how I will get this inside house :) Any ideas...….

Cheers

I am not sure I lifted carpet and saw a chipboard thing - not sure whats under that without doing major lifting of boards....

Can't help but think this will look odd, hope it doesn't fall over and kill someone, you would usually have a pin in the floor for the statue to lock into.

I reckon you’ll need to seriously beef up the floor. Unlikely it’s concrete if they’ve boarded over it so extra joists will need to be put in.

Is it not 60kg? At 600kg, how are you gonna get into the hall?

A quick google tells me that marble weights 2,711kg per cubic metre. Using the OP's measurements given of 50cm x 30cm x 180cm gives 0.27m3 and which is a weight of 732kg. Then as the statue is a shape and not a solid block, it's entirely possible that it is about 600kg?

It sounds like you'd need the floor taking up and replacing with a solid block of concrete under where the statue is going but I have no experience in these things.
