Helicopter sims?

Chaps,
Any of you know of any decent helicopter sims?
The obvious choice that springs to mind is the the Microsoft flight sim option, though I remember reading that an older version wouldn't allow you to hover as there was a problem with the flight dynamics.

My PC is fairly new, so I'd like some nice eye candy whilst there.
Any thoughts?

MS FS 2004 is okay with a Joystick, with keys Heliks are rubbish. However it looks good with AA and AF

Have they sorted out the hover mode in FS 2004?
It was impossible to hover the older versions.

Yes, unfortuantely... BUT you can build your own cities in Sim City 2000.....

What about Battlefield Vietnam/2 ? okay... i'll shut up now...

There's a Havok expansion for LOMAC coming out soon IIRC. If you want eye candy, look no further than LOMAC IMO

Commanche 4 was one of the best, bit dated now. I'd say Enemy Engaged : RAH-66 Comanche vs KA-52 Hokum was decent.

hahahahahaha i remember sim copter that game was sweet ... comanche 4 is a good game as has already been said... maybe a bit arcady but still good fun

Why not just play Battlefield 2, plenty of copters in that game, plus you can shoot at them too.

the ability to get in a chopper without having to tk 6 teammates for it ?

Commanche Hokum was the last good one. It'll use the choppers and maps and missions from Apache Havok too if you have it.

From a helicopter sim point of view BF2 isn't even 10% of the way there, they just happen to look like helicopters. Fun yes, sim no.

Black Shark looks like the way forward for Heli sims.
