I just tried the demo lol,
its like a 1990's game with rubbish graphics &
restrictions to access every which way you go.
Can't see anyone buying this, it looks like an amateur mod to a game

I just looked at some of the screenies on gamespot... surely it looks better than that right? That looks shocking  I wouldnt waste my HDD space for that.

Are we still in 1998? even my old amiga could run that crap.

Just downloading the demo now, ready for some pure FPS action.

Vietcong is more kinda old school now... direct x 8.1, still relatively high texture resolutions though, but a very dodgy engine. men of valor is good, but Vietcong is amazing because of the freedom that you get in the jungle...

Vietcong is a great game, incredibly immersive with an excellent story that really pulls you in. Definitely worth a look. Vietcong 2 was a disappointment as a sequel though.

Vietcong was great, however the dialogue really upset me. The pure combat moments feel very platoonish, however when broken by the voice of a gun-ho yank it really spoils the mood.

I dunno, it doesn't look *THAT* bad. I think people are forgetting what games looked like in the past. Something like this: http://www.gamershell.com/screenpop.php?id=247940

...looks a lot better than many games from the late'90s in my view.

The only thing which looks a bit crap in those screenies is the enemy models seem kinda superimposed on the enviornments, could definitely be done better.

I'd say it doesn't look much worse than MOH:AA tbh.

As for Men of Valor, I'd steer well clear. Plays like a rushed console port, heck even the tutorial doesn't have voice overs but rather some dodgy text on the screen. The cutscenes try to build up some story but it's all a bit contrived really.
