I really enjoyed the first two seasons of this - it was great. Third season dropped off a bit, but was still decent, but the fourth was pretty crap. Too much filler, a symptom of the longer series perhaps, and not enough railroad building.

I've not seen S5 at all yet, is it better than 4?

It's great, I never bothered with Sopranos though so can't compare it.
