Hell Yes - Swearing?

I'm a swearing pedant; whenever anyone mentions my profanities to me and says that I'm "swearing", I kindly inform them that I am not making any oaths at all.

I'm a Christian and I use 'Hell yeah' and 'Bloody Hell' all the time. I've never really understood why some Christians have a problem with swearing, if you go back and look at the Bible in the original languages it was written in it's full of swear words

It even uses the P word for wee:)

And the C word for Vagina:eek:(although spelt a little different)

The bible says something like "Thou shall not use the l;ords name in vein"
Since when was gods name **** or **** anyway?

I can't remember any off the top of my head but I do recall one passage translating as "piece of ****".

Remember that most of the disciples were fishermen, not a group noted for their polite conversation

@Zip

That's a common misinterpretation of what 'taking the lords name in vain' means. It actually refers to saying something like "I kill you in the name of God", in effect using God as an excuse to kill people. Didn't really have the desired effect though :rolleyes:
