I think the main point that needs to get across about this game is don't judge it on the demo it's just not a good representation of the final game, my friend played the demo and cancelled his pre-order I leant him my beta account and now he's pre-ordered it again
Then it should never have been released, the demo that is.
I didn't know much about the game, in fact very little apart form a lot of people going 'OMG i cant wait, AM GONNA EXXXXPLODE etc...' on a few forums so had no expectations, apart from people can't wait for it, so its worth a look.
I get where this type of game will excel is online, but with the competition already out there, this will struggle to make an impact, and those they could have bought in from the demo, will simply avoid it, like me, and many others.
The game doesn't grab you, doesn't tell a story, doesn't wow you in any way. It leaves you feeling flat, and wishing it could have of done this, done that, or been something else.
A sequel could well become a massive games if they learn from their mistakes, a very highly patched version of this could bring it up to a playable level, but there is so much work to do, i think they missed the point. I think they made it for themselves.
I was hoping for a HL2 vs NWNs experience, and i think if it was, it would have been one hell of a game, unfortunately i might as well go get my old HL1 & NWN1 games out and play them, both are far superior in gameplay, there's nothing here but a missed opportunity to create a dark magical world and great game.
