Anyone here play this game?
Got a few questions. I know the game play is like Guildwars. Meeting places where you can group up and go into instances. Can you us a single player charactor in muliplayer or do you have to have speperate ones.
Any other info on how this game works?

I have this game. Be prepared to be bored out of your head soon, it gets extremely repetitive. And no, you can't use a single player character in multiplayer, you start from scratch if you want to go multiplayer.

I really like the game I find as you get further on in the game it gets far less repetitive. About around level 15 to 20 I started seeing new things. From 0 to 15 is very similar.

Single player cannot be used in multilayer. They also have elite and a mode after which you cannot use your normal characters with.

Normal mode, normal character
nightmare mode, keep normal character.

When you unlock nightmare mode mode you also unlock Elite
Elite new character
Elite nightmare, keep new charter.

The game is pretty much instance's. Unless someone is in your group you will not see another player in a quest/mission area. You only bump into people in towns.

found it to be utter garbage personally. Was kinda hoping for a futuristic Guild Wars but the appalling voice acting, stupid quests (early on anyway) and awful graphics just turned me off. Played it for about 15 minutes and then uninstalled.

I had high hopes for this game, but it is just like playing a beta, the amount of bugs and missing game features is ridiculous. And the gameplay as previously mentioned is very repetitive, all of the areas look the same. It's a game that i really wanted to like, but i just couldn't.

Might be minor spoilers below, level environments.

“gameplay as previously mentioned is very repetitive, all of the areas look the same.“
I have to assume most of you guys either played it right after it came out and/or never got past level 15. At the start it is repetitive but it changer's as you go on.

Until the 0.7 patch it was very buggy now its very playable. When you get past 15 its not repetitive with all areas looking the same. I have had a top down view controlling a squad for the hole level. A turret map shooting down an air ship and waves of flying stuff, after that you go into the bio air ship and explore it which is a very organic level. Been down the river basin (all water drained out), Tower of London, British museum and many more different areas. Even had a bio level full of boils that you have to clean up.

EDIT:
Saying that Hell is a big disappointment it is repetitive. Every single red portal to hell is the same. There is 1 map, 1 very small map. Sometimes there is different portal in hell which leads deeper into hell not sure if that changes. Only done it twice.

I got to level 20 and gave up. Seriously, playing twenty identical maps for quest after quest was a bit boring.

And since when does Tottenham Court Road look like that?! The link between London and the game is purely nominal most of the time.

I really like it, but then I'm only level 11 so far. I'm a bit of a sucker for post-apocalyptic environments, so that helped, and it really reminds me of Diablo 1, which helps too.

I'm playing it purely 1st person as a marksman, find it very atmospheric. There is a lot of repetition, but some nice breaks too - the British Museum, Picadilly Square.

It's got the whole equipment thing just right too. You can spend ages trying to decide which weapon and which mods to use.

As for the accents, I'm Irish, I think you all sound ridiculous anyway :D

I cannot agree, I don't see how you can say the maps are identical. There are many completely different maps.

How are these maps the same
The river maps
Tower of London
Church's
Museum's
the bio maps
Parks.
2nd hell area
and others.

All very different from the 1st hell area, subway, abandon city and inside generic building maps. At the start of the game you do mostly only do subway, abandon city inside generic building maps with the odd 1st hell portal. But it change's as you go on.

You know what I mean. Of course there are different maps but there are many which are identical such as all the approaches [there are many you have to go through and they all the the same], ditto the sewers and steam tunnels. it just got too boring. I like each level and quest to look different rather than being a rehash of earlier ones.

But they have random elements like hidden tunnels and areas and the layout changes so not really identical. Not really sure what you where expacting all game of this type are the same. Look at Titan Quest or Diablo and all the others.

Not as amusing as the gigantic tube tunnels which a Chunnel train could fit down, as opposed to the claustrophobia-inducing genuine article.

i played multiplayer till lvl 20+ then other games came out so its in the shelv somewhere defineTLY i will give it a go later ok game

Was in the beta also and it was a unoptimised bug infested mess. I've kept tabs on it since and it isn't much better apparently. Bugs aside, the repetitive maps and uninspired questlines bored the hell out of me.

I don't mind a bit of Diablo style gaming occasionally but Hellgate certainly didn't cut it for me......roll on Sacred 2 (due in Sept)
