Shut up and read his history before coming into a thread armed up as a tool.

Hows your memory coming along mate, have you had any other revelations or incidents that have triggered a memory recently?

thank you. not triggered anything as such but my memory is a bit messed up. things i don't realise i've forgotten until they crop up...

been told by the docs my memorymight come back fully tommorrow or in 10 years or never!

That is such a scary thought. Seems incredible that you have retained your long-term memory, basics, even intricacies such as car makes/models, but yet have "forgotten" such day-to-day things like peoples names and your daily routines.

I guess you are just having to take each day as it comes, and are re-learning along the way.

My hat gets raised to you regardless, not many people can say that they fight back this hard after such a life changing accident!

yeah, in a way its all new to me with the exception i know ive done it before so its not - its really weird. had to learn to do my shoelaces, walk, stand etc all again.

Back around 1981 a mate of mine had a bad car crash and he couldn't even remember his wife & kids.
He had to go home and live with people he didn't know and he had total memory loss.
One day she was driving past my house and Dave said "I wonder if Pooley has still got his Mattel Intellivision?"
She stopped the car, asked him if he remembered me, he nodded and then knocked on my door.
He hadn't got the slightest clue who I was.
However, helpimcrap, over the next few years virtually all his memory came back so hold on in there.

cheers mate, thats an optimistic story and with the brain holding so much potential it gives me hope.. :)

one thing which i appreciate is the nurses telling me i was one of the nicest people they had met but without question i was THE most determined person they had ever known!

that was nice to hear - it hadn't gone unnoticed. as i said to them each, there's no if's/but's/maybe's only WILL. every thing they asked me to do i'd done without question and a week after going home i'm stilll spending 2 hrs doing physio each day......

I don't know if you're trying to be funny or not, but it seriously isn't funny. Do you know what helpimcrap has been through? Perhaps you should read up.

It's good to hear you're getting about and getting back into the flow of your life before the crash. :)

Any news of when you're getting back on the bike?

the only chance i'll have of riding again is if i have an op on my arm.

i've told my family and friends that if motorbike racing is what i used to love to do then i'll on the start line come march ;)

I read about you awhile ago in motors helpimcrap, that was one nasty crash:eek::eek::eek:. Excellent news that your on the mend! And your attitude to this situation is nothing but inspirational:cool:. I honestly believe I would have given up mentally and physically in your situation:(. Anyway good lick and keep us posted on your progress:).

it can be really really hard but the way i see is simple, i have 3 and a half functional limbs so i should work! anything else is just something else i have to work around. at times i've been down due to my injuries but my friends and family soon tell me to try. :)

one thing i've gotta aim for is that i WILL be able to ride a motorbke next year. it's something i used to love so i want those experiences again!
this just helps you realise what you've done and where you've come from - it serves as a good reminder!
