Anyone do this regularly? Just had a voucher through the door with a 60% discount on the 1st box so was thinking of giving it a go.
So, worth it? Quality of food etc?
Family of three.

Deffo worth it with a discount. I actually really enjoy the food, but a lot of the meals have an extra charge. I can still usually get enough choice without having to pay extra though. Some actual HF meals I’ve gad

Worth it with the discount. It's good to have some new recipes handy for future reference too.

We don't do it so much now but when we did, we found Gousto to be much better than HelloFresh

Used both. Prefer Guosto and it's what we've stuck with
+1. Gousto is much better than Hello Fresh, the meals are just better all round, more variety, better balanced flavours.

I can only think of one or two Gousto recipes that have been a bit meh, they are generally really good.

Agreed, I prefer Gousto too. Better variety of recipes, and I've had far, far fewer issues with wrong/missing/poor quality ingredients than I did with Hello Fresh. In the end I think my account still had nearly £20 of credit applied to it when I cancelled because they were always getting things wrong.

I had a better experience with Hello Fresh than Gousto. The flavour combinations had the edge on the recipes I tried. I would definitely give it a go for such a big discount. It's interesting to see such a big split in preference between Hello Fresh and Gousto.

We prefer Gousto and its cheaper too, but occassionally switch back to Hello Fresh when there's a promo running.

Trying out Mindful Chef at the moment. A lot more expensive but you can see the difference in the quality of ingredients. Again worth a go with a promo code.

I love it, I use it all the time but I don’t and wouldn’t pay full price for it.

It’s so much easier and simpler, saves you having to plan meals and I hate eating the same stuff every day. I‘m also super lazy and hate shopping.

We've been having it for a month now, last week however we were missing items from every meal in the box and they are crafty with the account credits, they credit your account but it's only against full priced boxes and like most people I only ever have it active when I've got a 40 or 60% discount running.

Search my name in this sub for "Meal Kits".

I tried a few of them.

Gousto -> the best "set and forget" meal kit
HelloFresh -> utter crap. too much non-recyclable waste. food far too salty.
Mindful Chef -> epic, but super expensive.

Ive tried Hello Fresh and agree with too much non recyclable packaging but far too salty? It if tells you to add salt and pepper, you dont have to. I dont as I dont add any salt to my food except on chips when I have them. They are crap in that they quite often get things wrong like missing ingredients, missing recipe cards, wrong ingredients, ingredients past their best

This was at a time when Gousto were giving regular stock pots, which has now changed - but HelloFresh was the outlier at the time using its own branded stock which I found was very salty. They all use their own recipe stock now which is probably a mix of MSG and heroin to keep you coming back.

Those are all very "brown"

We tried Hello Fresh with a 60% discount, it was edible, but we found it very bland and tasteless, I guess convenience > taste is why people use them?

As above, HelloFresh is the worst of the bunch. Gousto is much more bearable (but still, convience being the biggest factor).

If you want to try one that is really worth trying - give Mindful Chef a go.
