The light bulb above my head just blew... and now none of the upstairs lights except mum's bedroom and one landing light are working....
meaning we have no light in the bathroom, 3 bedrooms, or from one light on the landing.
The trip switches on the consumer unit all look to be fine so a bit puzzling... we also assumed all the upstairs lighting was on the same ring - obviously not.
Looks like we'll be needing an electrician tomorrow.
We only had a new consumer unit and a load of outdoor lighting plus downstairs lighting fitted a couple of months ago by an electrician my dad knew that came highly recommended - The bulb in my room seemed to blow alarmingly frequently before we did any work and so we're thinking it could be a wiring problem - the house was built in the 20s, but modernised when it was extended in the 70s and rewired then.
When we first looked to move the survey we had done said with the exception of the consumer unit which should be replaced (which we have) the wiring was fine.
Damn it!
