Hello Mr Central Reservation

Better than ending up sitting on the central reservation facing the wrong way :p

There is surprisingly little damage... looks mostly like scarred paint work?

HI there

I'd say lucky escape!
As to lose/spin a FWD motor in these conditions you must have been moving along pretty swiftly so I'd say you got away lightly.

I find when its wet like this but properly wet and still cold/warmish the Mustang handles quite well and is predictable.

Its just lethal when the roads of greasy or the tyres are too cold.

Was thoroughly wet but thats no excuse, was going too fast for the conditions. Simple as that. Put it down to experience and move on.

Was a NS limit road so was shifting, certainly wasnt admiring the scenery.

The specialist that looked at the car thinks, and I do say thinks as Im not trying to justify what happened on the car, that there is a problem with the rear suspension which may have added to the problem but its going down as driver error for this one. Wear on the tyres indicates a problem which was there before it got a bang today :p

Most of the damage does look like paint work, going to get a second opinion from someone a friend knows about it, but its definitely bent at the front end. By the time someone resprays the back it will costs a bit, I can get a matching bumper for £100 + fitting. Front one costs a little more as thats what most people damage!

Surely the bumpers can be sorted without replacing, doesnt look too bad and the car is only red, not some hard to blend colour.

Sounds like a typical bodyshop making a meal of everything and charging loads.

i did the exact same thing (except into a bank) and replacing the bumpers was the cheap/easy part :p

hope u havn't bent anything underneath :(
